George has over a decade of experience of coaching. He has a passion for supporting people of all abilities to develop their skills in the sport of Olympic weightlifting. He also volunteers alongside our trustees as a member of the board and CEO of KBYD.

Alexandra is both a coach and a competitive weightlifter herself, with more than nine years of experience in the sport. In addition to being part of the coaching team, delivering free classes to local young people, she also volunteers her time to support our administrative work.

 

Katy is a Level 2 qualified Olympic weightlifting coach.

Jaydee volunteers in our weightlifting classes and is training to be a Level 2 Weightlifting Coach

Katie has been a weightlifter for over 8 years and has competed several times at various levels. She volunteers in our classes and is training to become a Level 2 Weightlifting Coach.

Skye volunteers in our classes and is currently training to be a level 2 weightlifting coach.

Dani has nearly six years of experience working in safeguarding across a range of settings, supporting children and young people with diverse needs. She specialises in mental health, with a strong focus on building positive relationships and creating safe, supportive environments where young people can thrive. Click here for more information about how KBYD safeguards young people.

Ben works for local charity Rise:61 and volunteers behind the scenes at KBYD. He leads on development of our policies and ensures that we operate in a way which promotes safeguarding and supports the wellbeing of the young people we work with.

Claire works in our local NHS services and volunteers behind the scenes at KBYD. She coordinates our team and links with other local organisations to make local young people aware of the opportunities which our work enables them to access.

James is our numbers guy. He is a chartered accountant by training and brings over ten years experience including volunteering in governance roles for various charitable organisations. In his personal life, James has seen a great positive mental health impact through more than five years of regular training in weightlifting. Because of this he is committed and passionate about shaping our strategy to sustainably deliver free classes over the long term.

Our head coach has over ten years' experience and leads our team of coaches. All coaches hold a British Weightlifting-certified, Ofqual-regulated coaching qualification. Our team hold First Aid and Mental Health First Aid qualifications as well as role-specific qualifications and experience as outlined above.
